Larcy’s Cupcakery – Mastering the Art of baking cupcakes…

Larcy’s Cupcakery – Mastering the Art of baking cupcakes…

I would definitely love it to get a head start and fill my surroundings with pretty things I love. To start off, we found a place in my favorite color, then we shop for some girly and vanity stuff and then head to this shabby chic spot at Aguirre street and voila, I fell in love with the hearts in all sizes and all shades of pink which you will find all over the place. We were at Larcy’s place. All pink and pretty.

To be honest, with all those lovely and dainty cupcakes, we really had a hard time choosing what to have. Jen even wants to get everything with a sugared heart on top, whatever is pretty, she will go for it, though we opted to get their recommendations and had limit our choice to the list of best sellers.

Not bad at less than a hundred..

Of course, my own blueberry cheesecake is included in the list, however, they ran out of it, and they’re currently baking it. In all fairness, they apologized and asked if we can wait for less than an hour as of course they bake it in batches.

Baking area… Where’s my blueberry cheesecake? =)

We thanked them for the offer, we know that we can’t wait that long so we got the others from their list.

We had the following:

Rocky road for me!

Chocolate brownie overload..
caramel
Caramel for Ms. Caramel!

And pair them with two of their drinks:

Iced mocha for Jen and latte for me..

The ambiance of their store if I can use the term “happy”.

As more guests are coming, everyone is at their best, smiles on their faces and laughter with their friends or families. Like we did.

Even their attendants, their being “nice” isn’t canned and the initiative to do something in order to please the guest is innate in them. Reading people’s actions seems to be their turf. One attendant offered us to utilize a stand fan since the air-conditioning unit couldn’t accommodate the whole place, it isn’t defective, it is just so scorching hot during that afternoon.

And another attendant while we were taking photos, volunteered that he take a picture of us on that awesome wall with the logo of Larcy’s with hearts in all shapes.

Can it be considered a mural?

They also served us glasses of iced water due to the fact that the temperature is awful as if despite of it, they all wanted their guests to enjoy their stay at Larcy’s.

We actually did, and in most of my blogs, I often say, I’m gonna come back here, We’re going back here, etc, etc. And I’d like to say it again, we’re definitely going back here. Larcy’s is without a doubt addicting.

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery…

Vanilla Cupcake bakery

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

My foodie buddy like me is a sweet tooth too. Bring her to any cake shop or pastry shop and she will definitely love it!

I have been eyeing this Shabby chic themed bakery in Alabang and at last, we made our first try. And surely, we will come back. Oh, I am coming back to a lot of places! Ahaha

front
Facade..

Here’s why:

The over-all ambiance is truly Shabby chic. A modern one. Shabby chic in the Philippines is not that much “in” unlike most countries in the USA and Europe.

Shabby chic items are often heavily painted through the years, with many layers showing through obviously time-worn areas. The style is imitated in faux painting using glaze or by painting then rubbing and sanding away the top coat to show the wood or base coats, known as “distressing” the finish of the furniture. Furniture pieces that are not genuine antiques are usually selected for their resemblance to older furniture styles, and may be reproduction furniture with a distressed finish. Elaborate furniture appliques depicting flower swags and garlands, cherubs, and other motifs may be added.

Fabrics tend to be cottons and linens, with linen being particularly popular, inspired by old French linens. Pure whites, as well as ecrus and worn or bleached out pastel colors are favorites. Fabric is often stained with tea to give it the look of old fabric. Bleached and faded are terms often applied to the style. Vintage floral patterns with pastel colors, cotton tickingpatterns, or linen in earth tones, are all typical of shabby chic style.

Antique pieces such as pie safes and jelly cupboards are popular in shabby chic décor.[1] Besides white, the shabby chic style also includes soft neutral colors such as sky blue, rose pink and beige tones. Hints from French-style interior design often show in shabby chic homes such as Rococo-style lighting fixtures, furniture or wall paneling.

The shabby chic aesthetic also expands to the garden, with the same design principles of using timeworn garden furniture and feminine accessories. Rose gardens are popular with the shabby chic style of decor.

Other popular decor items are pillows made of vintage barkcloth fabric, vintage linens, chenille bedspreads, vintage chandeliers, and anything with roses in the design. It is a soft, relaxed, feminine, romantic style of decorating that looks comfortable and inviting.

Variants of shabby chic style include:

  • Cottage chic
  • Beach cottage chic
  • French country
  • Gustavian (Swedish)

Vanilla cupcake bakery is modern Shabby chic utilizing framed quotes in typography (ephemeral or classic), chandeliers and quilted chairs from Heima, prints of floral, polkadots and stripes are in all corners too. It usually is on the pastel side – pink, mint, powder blue, peach, pale yellow, lavender, pistachio green. There will be some elements that is darker or bolder in color which makes it as an accent. Just keep looking around, and you will agree with me that it is another “happy place” to visit if you have the time.

Undeniably, it clicked locally since we waited for a table to be vacant and during our visit, a celebrity is doin’ her shoot on one of its corner. The place isn’t that big, roughly around 7 tables for 2-4 persons inside and 4 tables outside. Proof that guests flock their store? The display shelves of their cupcakes were almost empty and theirs are baked fresh daily.

Can’t do without these!

More than ten years ago, I instantly knew it was her favorite since each time we go to McDonalds, I will get my sundae with Oreos or hot fudge and she will always get her caramel flavored sundae.

Much as we want to linger longer, there are people outside waiting for some tables to be empty. Unless we place another order to be able to stay a little longer, but we can’t as our tanks are full, we just finished our heavy lunch from another place, had frozen yogurt and we just wanted to try this dainty country-side store that I have been seeing from google for several times now.

This shop brought me into searching for more places in my country depicting this awesome feel of Shabby chic. I really hope to find more. =)
